Energia Family, the new family of ecological airplanes

The Brazilian aeronautical manufacturer Embraer in association with certain institutes and companies in the industry. Presented a new project based on a family of concept aircraft to help the industry achieve its goal of zero net carbon emissions by 2050.

“Energia Family” is made up of four concept aircraft of different sizes and with different propulsion technologies:

Electric energy: it proposes zero CO2 emissions.

Hydrogen fuel cell: it proposes zero CO2 emissions.

Dual fuel gas turbine: proposes up to 100% reduction in CO2 emissions

Hybrid-electric: proposes up to 90% reduction in CO2 emissions.

“Our role is to develop innovative technologies to help the industry achieve its sustainability goals … That is why our Energía family is such an important platform,” said Luis Carlos Affonso, Senior Vice President of Engineering, Technology, and Corporate Strategy at Embraer.

Energia Family is still in the design phase. However, Embraer has already made progress in reducing emissions from its aircraft by testing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and its goal is to make all Embraer aircraft compatible. with the SAF by 2030.
