After many years of work, and research the Japanese manufacturer Honda Motors presents a lightweight Jet, with the highest standards of comfort, design, technology, and performance. 

The HondaJet will be the first light aircraft capable of non-stop flights across the United States with great fuel efficiency. Thanks to its advanced technology that allows it to consume less fuel while reaching higher speeds. The HondaJet manufactured with a lighter structure of its fuselage increases its efficiency in terms of speed and fuel consumption.

Regarding its structure, HondaJet is composed of a one-piece fuselage created by honeycomb layers and rigid structures that provide lightness. In addition, the engine configuration is located over the wing, freeing up space in its fuselage.

This lightweight aircraft accommodates up to 11 occupants and features a quieter and more spacious cabin that has been designed for longer routes and is fully customizable. Thanks to its modular configuration and state-of-the-art technology that offers greater operational safety while reducing the pilot job.

Among other important features of this aircraft are: 

  • Range of 4,861 km (2,625 NM).
  • Maximum cruising speed of 450 kts.
  • Altitude 14,325 m (47,000 ft). Leader for the segment.
  • Less noise thanks to OTWEM.
  • Class-leading pressurization with a cabin altitude of 1,940 m (6,363 ft) at its maximum operating altitude of 14,325 m
  • It is the first long-range jet designed for operation with only one pilot.

Honda Motors is committed to reinventing business aviation by offering a new level of comfort, design, and technology. Although the final price of the aircraft has not been published yet, it is expected that it will be ready by 2023 and great success is predicted.

 

Interferry 2021 arrives in Santander

Interferry 2021 arrives in Santander, after being postponed due to the pandemic. This year, Interferry 2021 celebrates its 45th anniversary in Santander, the home port that serves Brittany Ferries and this year will host Interferry, to take the maritime industry into the future.

“It has never been more important for the entire ferry industry to come together to defend their collective interests, and we are delighted that the board of directors has chosen our candidacy to host the conference this year,” says Brittany Ferries CEO Christophe Mathieu.

Under the slogan “the future is the ferries” the fair is held, which will last from tomorrow, October 2 to October 6, in Santander.

A place that will host at least 300 participants, to carry out the oldest fair in the maritime sector.

Among the points to be celebrated at Interferry 2021, the different visuals regarding topics of interest such as climate change, the crisis of the pandemic stand out.

In addition to the possible solutions for the reduction of GHG, new technologies in the ship and coast design, security systems, and supply logistics, among other challenges.

Brittany Ferries has served Santander since 1978 and has a route that covers: France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern Spain.

The first flying car takes the skies

Thanks to some futuristic comics and movies, we have all dreamed of the time when we could travel from one place to another in our flying car. That moment has arrived thanks to the Slovakian company Klein Vision, which presents the first flying car to complete an intercity flight.

It was last June when the AirCar took off from the airport in the city of Nitra to land about half an hour later at Bratislava airport and then complete its journey by road. During this 80 km flight, the AirCar reached an altitude of 2,500 mt, at a cruising speed of up to 190 km/h. The AirCar became the prototype to pass the R&D phase after completed more than 40 hours of test flights and 142 landings.

How did they achieve the first flying car?

The AirCar Prototype 1 is powered by a 160 hp BMW gasoline engine with a fixed propeller and also has an advanced technological and automated system to deploy or hide its wings, depending on whether it is used for air or road. This transformation process only takes less than 3 minutes, and the car is ready to take off or make its road trip or even park in a normal parking space.

It is expected that this prototype will have some adjustments that will improve its autonomy. For now, we know that its BMW engine will be replaced by a BMW gasoline engine of 300CV which will increase the speed to about 300 km/h with an approximate autonomy of 1000 km.

Given the success of these tests, the company Klein Vision ensures that in the coming months may present the first production model in series and will have different configurations, both in 2 or 4 seats. However, now the issue will reside in the homologation of the regulations of the different countries to circulate by air, which could delay the time when we can enjoy this breakthrough.

 

Singapore Airlines offers in-flight online shopping

Technology takes over the sky, and Singapore Airlines will offer online shopping when you go onboard a flight. 

Singapore Airlines will become the first airline to offer this service. Passengers will be able to make purchases through KrisShop, the airline’s shopping portal that offers more than 4,000 online products that can be delivered to your doorstep. 

Among the range of categories offered by the airline are: beauty items such as fragrances and cosmetics, exclusive Singapore Airlines products, and electronics. 

At the same time, orders delivered to passengers on their next Singapore Airlines flight can enjoy duty-free prices. Users can also opt for delivery services directly to their homes.

SIA and KrisShop’s relationship in conjunction with Thales, Panasonic Avionics, and AirFree, work to deliver this electronic experience in the air, with an air-to-ground connectivity system.

Which connects KrisShop to the aircraft’s IFE system for in-stock product updates and credit card authorization. 

At the moment, the in-flight shopping service is available for a few A350 aircraft. However, it will gradually be expanded to the entire Singapore Airlines fleet.

The cruise industry after the pandemic

Before the health emergency generated by Covid-19, was decreed the cruise tourism industry was one of the most prosperous since it offered a very wide range of options, that are adapted to the needs and tastes of each traveler.

However, after the unfortunate events at the beginning of the pandemic, when the cruise ships presented hundreds of infected passengers and deaths. Some vessels were left adrift full of travelers and crew, being seriously affected by the ban on docking in ports in many countries.

For this reason, the industry has spent months developing and implementing various safety plans in the health field that will allow them to reactivate their operations without putting passengers, crew, and receiving countries or ports at risk. Here we bring you some of the measures that will be imposed from the summer of 2021, which is when the activation of some cruise lines is expected.

Limitations on the capacity of the ship: Although we are talking about boats that mobilize thousands of people for long periods, this decision can help in multiple ways since a more specific control can be carried out in PCR-type tests. In this way, it will be mandatory to use a mask and carry a control chip so that accurate monitoring of where and with whom each passenger has been can be done. This measure will help in the event of any contagion, the tracing of contacts that have had each person.

For now, the industry proposes to carry out the first test trips, visiting different ports within the same country, until they can refine strategies and make longer trips that involve other countries and their sanitary control measures as well as the reception of tourists.
